CASE FOR SUPPORT

General Public & Community Need
Our programs are proven to increase LGBTQIA+ visibility, strengthen understanding and create meaningful change by building empathy for our cause amongst the general public and the LGBTQ community alike.

Filmmaker and Storyteller Need
Our programs directly address the ongoing impediments faced by LGBTQIA+ filmmakers, providing skills, access and support to our emerging and established storytellers as well as supporting the larger entertainment industry tapped with inclusion and diversity representation challenges.

Entertainment Industry Representation Need
Our programs for entry-level, mid-level and career-climbing professionals both above-the-line and below-the-line support the industry-demand for helping to identify, engage and foster more meaningful diverse and inclusive employment relationships with LGBTQIA+ prospects

Art and Cultural Need
The arts continue to demonstrate their ability to impact human rights, political and socio-economic issues that concern virtually every facet of American and our global society at-large.
HOW DO WE SERVE THIS NEED?
Outfest is the only LGBTQIA+ media arts organization that is headquartered in the capital of entertainment, providing a global audience with direct access to today’s emerging and top filmmakers, studios, multi-channel story platforms, and immersive events.
No other LGBTQIA+ organization supports the entire life-cycle of film, television and streaming content, from ideation and development, production and distribution, archiving, restoration and preservation.
Our educational, below and above-the line mentorship, skills-centric, and leadership training programs go beyond exhibition, providing direct service and support to individuals as well as the emerging majority within the LGBTQIA+ community.
Our tentpole events, including our film festivals, screenings, gala, seminars and community gatherings are some of the most highly sought and covered LGBTQIA+ entertainment-centric experiences in the world.
