Lorena Alvarado
Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, Lorena Alvarado is a Brooklyn-based director and producer working within the intersection of documentary film and fiction. With a focus on personal stories and social issues, she has developed campaigns for nonprofits and NGOs such as the United Nations as well as directed her own personal short films. Lorena’s films have been screened at BlackStar, DOC NYC, and New Filmmakers LA film festivals as well as receiving a NOWNESS pick. She received her B.A. in Media and Film Studies from Emerson College, and completed a fellowship at Fabrica Research Center in Italy.
