AMERICAN FEATURES COMPETITION
Q. ALLAN BROCKA
Q. Allan Brocka’s first film school project at California Institute of the Arts, RICK & STEVE THE HAPPIEST GAY COUPLE IN ALL THE WORLD (winner Outfest ‘99) screened at Sundance and over 200 festivals. He returned to Outfest with three animated sequels in 2001 and his master’s thesis ROBERTA LOVED in 2002. He starred in AMC’s documentary GAY HOLLYWOOD (Outfest 2003). His award-winning first feature EATING OUT (Outfest 2004) comes to DVD this month. Brocka is a columnist for The Advocate and directed the new documentary CAMP MICHAEL JACKSON (co-directed with Glenn Gaylord) and the upcoming feature film BOY CULTURE.
TOMMY O’HAVER
Tommy O’Haver grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana, making Super-8 films, including the six-minute stop-motion epic “Barbie Meets E.T.” After receiving a degree in critical studies in film, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of making movies. Outfest was his festival debut, as his early Super-8’s from USC film school were screened for the first time there. After screening shorts at Sundance and the New York Film Festival, he went on to make his feature debut with BILLY’S HOLLYWOOD SCREEN KISS starring Sean Hayes. His most recent film was ELLA ENCHANTED, starring Anne Hathaway. He is currently at work on MAGICK for Dreamworks and THE BASEMENT an independent feature.
ANNE STOCKWELL
As Executive Editor for The Advocate, Anne Stockwell assigns and writes cover stories about Hollywood for America's award-winning lesbian and gay newsmagazine. Stockwell earned an MFA from NYU's Graduate Film School, where she studied with Martin Scorsese and made five short films, winning writing and directing awards from Sony Pictures, Warner Bros, and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. Her short film HIGH ROAD LOW ROAD screened at the 1991 New Directors, New Films series at New York's Museum of Modern Art. She is a founder and partner of the women-based personal finance website MoneyPants.com. A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Stockwell has edited and written for Esquire, Rolling Stone, New York, and Ms. magazines.

CAROLINE LIBRESCO
Caroline Libresco is a programmer for the Sundance Film Festival, where she manages the World Cinema section. Prior to joining Sundance, she was a programming specialist for the Independent Television Service (ITVS), associate director of the San Francisco Jewish Film Festival and senior publicist for the San Francisco International Film Festival. She co-wrote and produced the independent feature FANCI’S PERSUASION (directed by Charles Herman-Wurmfeld), which sold to Channel Four Britain. She also produced BARRIER DEVICE, an award-winning featurette starring Sandra Oh and the feature documentary, SUNSET STORY, which won the Audience Award at the Los Angeles Film Festival and jury prizes at the Tribeca and Miami Film Festivals. Caroline holds an M.A. in History of Religion from Harvard and an M.F.A. from UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television.
JEREMY PODESWA
Jeremy Podeswa is the writer and director of two critically acclaimed feature films, THE FIVE SENSES (Fine Line Distribution, starring Mary-Louise Parker, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, Directors Fortnight) and ECLIPSE (Strand Releasing, premiered at the Toronto and Sundance festivals). He has also directed numerous episodes of HBO’s “Six Feet Under”, “Carnivále” and “Rome”, the new epic historical series premiering in August. Other TV directing credits include Showtime’s “The L Word”, “Queer As Folk”, and “The Chris Isaak Show”, FOX’s “Wonderfalls” and the movie for television AFTER THE HARVEST, starring Sam Shepard. He has most recently directed the final segment of the mini-series “Into The West”, Executive Produced by Steven Spielberg for Dreamworks and TNT.
FRANÇOIS TROCHET
François Trochet is 28 years old and lives in Paris, France. He’s the head of Programming and acquisitions for PinkTV, France’s gay and lesbian television channel, which was launched in 2004. François holds a French Master of laws and has a strong passion for television. Prior to joining PinkTV, François was Programming Advisor of series and feature films at TF1, France’s first major television channel. In his current position, François has screened and acquired a wide range of queer programs. Some recent favorites include the narrative films QUERRELLE (Fassbinder), THE WEDDING BANQUET (Lee), HISTOIRE(S) DU CINEMA (Godard), the documentary THE GAY REPUBLICANS (Westmoreland), talk shows such as "So Graham Norton" and the television series "Queer as Folk" (US version) and "The L Word."

JENNIFER ARNOLD
Jennifer Arnold can be frequently heard calling Outfest her favorite film festival. Her Outfest premiere was MAID OF HONOR, which later screened at Sundance and was sold to HBO/Cinemax. She returned to Sundance with THE MULLET CHRONICLES, which was developed into AMERICAN MULLET. This documentary feature aired on Trio/USA Networks prior to a DVD release by Palm Pictures and Lions Gate Entertainment. Jennifer co-directed WHERE THE GIRLS ARE, which received an audience award at Outfest 2003. In 2004 she wrote the script SPEEDWAY and developed a project with Charlie Bohl and Martin Sheen. Jennifer is currently developing a fitness and beauty documentary entitled PERFECT 10 and finishing the script AFRICAN HUT.
LISA DANIEL
Lisa has a Master of Arts majoring in film and worked as a lecturer in film and media at a number of Melbourne universities including Monash University and the Victorian College of the Arts. She is also a free-lance writer in film and has been published in various national and international publications as well as being the Editor of The Bent Lens: A World Guide to Gay and Lesbian Film(Unwin & Allen, Alyson Books, 2003). Lisa is the Director of the Melbourne Queer Film Festival, a position she has held since 1998. In 2005 Lisa was named "Woman of the Year" at Melbourne's Rainbow Awards.
EUGENE HERNANDEZ
As Editor-in-Chief, Eugene Hernandez manages indieWIRE, a company he co-founded in 1996. Eugene recently served as an instructor at The New School in Manhattan and has participated as a juror and panelist at international film festivals including Sundance, the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam, and many others. As a reporter he has contributed to The Wall Street Journal Online, Variety, and The Hollywood Reporter. He has served as a consultant to non-profit film and arts organizations, as a funding panelist for the NEA, and is a member of the selection committee for the annual Independent Spirit Awards.
