Directed By: Yance Ford
In 1992, filmmaker Yance Ford's brother William was killed by a white mechanic after a minor dispute over a car repair. The Grand Jury then let William's shooter go free—altering their family dynamic forever. Ford, a transgender man, has constructed an elegant cinematic memoir that employs stylish visual language that appropriately won a jury prize for storytelling at Sundance. Ford, searching for closure, reassembles the pieces to this racial injustice, still painfully relevant 25 years later.
