FILM HAWK profiles indie film advocate Bob Hawk, who for more than 40 years has tirelessly championed emerging filmmakers. His triumphs include Kevin Smith (CLERKS) and Ed Burns (THE BROTHERS MCMULLEN) as well as such Queer Cinema icons as Rob Epstein (THE TIMES OF HARVEY MILK), Barbara Hammer (NITRATE KISSES), and Kimberly Reed (PRODIGAL SONS). The film traces both Hawk's career and his personal life through a series of often emotional interviews that shine a light on one of the unsung heroes of contemporary American cinema.
