When the AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power (ACT UP) first gathered together 25 years ago, they were angry, and committed to doing whatever it took to find a cure for HIV and AIDS. They took to the streets, protested government agencies, and their actions eventually changed the world. In UNITED IN ANGER, director, activist, and ACT UP member Jim Hubbard traces the organization's achievements from its earliest days through today, but also devotes much time to the interpersonal dynamics that made ACT UP work - from the roles of women and minorities to the sexual energy that added an extra charge to the weekly meetings.
