The Prep School Negro
(USA, 2012, 71 mins)
André Robert Lee
African-American filmmaker André Robert Lee was only 14 when a scholarship landed him in one of the most prestigious - and white - private schools in the country. Years later, Lee sets out to explore the experiences of today's black prep school students, but winds up returning to his own story. With warmth and candor, Lee focuses on the positive and negative effect his new school had on his life while trying to mend relationships with his mother, sister and estranged father.
