SCR: Erin Greenwell, USA, 2006, video, 70 min.
Kelly, (Emily Burton) an anal-retentive market researcher wants more than anything to be a successful anchorwoman. Linda, (lesbian comedian Julie Goldman) a free-spirited camera operator aspires to be a tattoo artist (she practices by tattooing MOM on oranges). When an out-of-town assignment puts them in close quarters, this mismatched pair must come to terms with their differences resulting in some hilarious mayhem. The mishaps begin with the botched hotel reservation, which lands them residence at the local youth hostel. When Linda happens unexpectedly into a scandalous lesbian affair, she leaves Kelly to fight a horny lesbian couple for privacy in the communal living space, only to be alone with her compulsion for success and gnawing fear of failure. This uproarious and unpredictably sweet comedy announces the welcome arrival of talented first time feature director Erin Greenwell. - JD
