Outfest has always been a safe place to come together and celebrate the diverse voices of our community through the films that reflect our lives. In light of the horrific tragedy in Orlando, we need this opportunity to come together perhaps more than ever.

As in all years, we want Outfest to be fun, but you can’t have fun without being safe, and our team is committed to making sure that everyone’s safety is the number one priority. As such, you will notice some changes at this year’s festival. We have worked with both the LAPD and our venues to develop an enhanced security plan. This will include more on-site security officers, increased patrols by the LAPD, new procedures for entering our theaters and other precautions.

As part of this plan, we have developed some new policies to assure a safe experience at Outfest Los Angeles:

  • There will be increased security at venue entry points, all individuals may be subject to search. We ask that you be sympathetic and patient with the security staff about this.
  • Festival attendees will be required to present current photo-identification upon request.
  • Backpacks, briefcases and any large bags or purses will not be allowed in the DGA. Please leave them at home or in your car.
  • No weapons of any kind, knives, pocket-knives, tools or metal objects will be permitted on the DGA premises.
  • Vehicles are subject to search. Mini-vans, vans and trucks will not be allowed in the DGA parking structures.
  • Outfest and our venues reserve the right to refuse admittance to any individual for any reason at any time.
  • Failure to comply with any above mentioned security guidelines and conditions of attendance will result in the festival patron’s immediate removal from the premises.
  • If at anytime you feel like you are part of or are in observation of an unsafe situation, please immediately alert the first security staff person you see, or otherwise communicate the situation.

We understand that this may cause some additional inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to create a safe environment for all. We look forward to sharing an incredible 11-days with you at Outfest Los Angeles!
