What’s new at Outfest Los Angeles?

We’re back! After an extensive two-year renovation, the historic Ford Theatres are open, and Outfest Los Angeles audiences will be among the first to see and experience what they’ve done to the place. Enjoy picnics before and during the screenings and films under the stars!

Outfest is thrilled to present the premiere screening of the 2016 OutSet Shorts. OutSet: The Young Filmmakers Project from The Los Angeles LGBT Center and Outfest, now in its fifth year, was created to empower and educate LGBTQ young people to tell their stories through film.

Celebrating 15 years, PLATINUM is Outfest’s signature showcase dedicated to experimental film, video, media and live performance that pushes the boundaries of cinema! Notoriously edgy, confrontational, and adventurous, Platinum celebrates the visionaries and renegades of queer art and culture.

A reflection of the strong local work Outfest Los Angeles received this year, FOCUS ON L.A. showcases the vibrancy and diversity of Los Angeles’ LGBTQ community. A young Korean American explores the steamier side of his sexuality, punk Xicana feminists ride to reclaim the streets, a gay couple hit an unexpected snag the night before their wedding, two teenage girls experience fraught first love and a disturbing discovery during a lesbian double-date leads to hilarious hijinks. Los Angeles is a city of stories; let us show you a few.
