1999 SCREENWRITING COMPETITION WINNER

The OUTFEST Screenwriting Competition was inaugurated in 1997 to recognize and promote top quality screenplays that significantly feature lesbian, gay , bisexual and transgender characters and themes. It is the competition's goal to showcase outstanding queer-themed screenplays and their writers to the entertainment industry. In 1999 we received ninety-five scripts, which were read by a panel of forty-seven judges in tow rounds. The winner received a cash award of $1,000, and met with industry leaders to discuss strategies for pursuing sale and production opportunities.
