Dear Filmmaker,

What an extraordinary 25th anniversary it’s been! Outfest reached the quarter century mark in style. Outfest 2007, the best-attended, best-received festival in our history, showcased 235 of the most accomplished and provocative new LGBT films from around the world. It also featured the world premiere of the restored PARTING GLANCES, the first feature film restoration completed by our landmark Outfest Legacy Project. We ended the year with a tremendous 5th edition of our groundbreaking Fusion festival and great Outfest Wednesdays events at the Egyptian Theater.

I am so proud of all of Outfest’s programs and the incredible artists – you – who make our programs shine. For many of you, Outfest has been a launching pad for your career and has helped move your art forward. I am asking you to become a member and support the very valuable work that Outfest does as part of the 100 Filmmakers Campaign. Our goal is to get 100 filmmakers to join at the $100 membership level (Best Boy/Best Girl). We are asking writers, directors and producers who have had a film in Outfest or Fusion to become a Member by January 31, 2008- click here to become a member.

I can think of hundreds of reasons to be a Member of this organization. But for now, here are five:

2. Outfest Wednesdays Screening Series - Bringing special features and festival favorites to audiences throughout the year at the glorious Egyptian Theater in Hollywood.
3. Fusion: The Los Angeles LGBT People of Color Film Festival - An experience like no other – the only multi-cultural, gender-inclusive LGBT people of color film festival.
4. The Outfest Legacy Project for LGBT Film Preservation - The only program that protects and saves the now vast but threatened canon of LGBT films that have defined and reflected our community. Learn more.
5. Access LA - Nurturing emerging filmmakers as only Outfest can, we forge connections between new talent and established industry professionals with programs that include the acclaimed Outfest Screenwriting Lab.
