OUTFEST 2008 FILM COMPETITION [2008] WINNERS

Outfest: The Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Film Festival provides filmmakers the largest awards program of any LGBT film festival in the world - 18 Outie Awards presented by grand juries, festival audiences and the Programs Committee.


OUTFEST gives awards in the following categories:

GRAND JURY AWARDS - The four juries are responsible for eight awards.

The US DRAMATIC FEATURES JURY is responsible for:
· US Narrative Feature
· Screenwriting
· Actor in a Feature Film
· Actress in a Feature Film

The INTERNATIONAL FEATURES JURY is responsible for:
· International Feature

The DOCUMENTARY FEATURES JURY is responsible for:
· Documentary Feature

The SHORT FILM JURY is responsible for:
· Narrative Short Film
· Documentary Short Film

AUDIENCE AWARDS
The audience is responsible for six awards.
· First Narrative Feature
· Narrative Feature
· Documentary Feature
· Narrative Short Film
· Documentary Short Film
· Soundtrack

SPECIAL PROGRAMMING AWARDS
The Senior Director, Co-Director of Programming and Associate Director of Programming are responsible for three awards.
· Freedom Award
· Outstanding Emerging Talent
· Outstanding Artistic Achievement

IRIS PRIZE Outfest is a partner festival of the Iris Prize, an international gay and lesbian short film prize which is open to any short film which is by, for, about or of interest to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or intersex audiences and which must have been completed within 2 years prior to the prize deadline (June 29th, 2007).
