Restored version of PARTING GLANCES to have its east coast premiere in NYC October 29

Los Angeles, CA –Outfest announced today that the recently restored 35mm print of the landmark film PARTING GLANCES will have its east coast premiere at Lincoln Center in New York City on October 29, 2007.  Outfest has partnered with NewFest to present this screening.  The film-- Bill Sherwood’s debut feature portraying urban gay life in the 1980s-- was one of the first films to address the AIDS epidemic.  Members of the cast, including Steve Buscemi, Kathy Kinney, Richard Ganoung and John Bolger are scheduled to appear.
 
Outfest, Los Angeles’ premier LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual & transgender) film organization partnered with the UCLA Film & Television Archive in 2005 to create the Outfest Legacy Project for LGBT Film Preservation.  The only program of its kind in the world, the Outfest Legacy Project works to preserve and archive influential LGBT moving images.  PARTING GLANCES is the Outfest Legacy Project’s first feature film restoration.

6:30 pm: VIP Pre-Reception, held in the Frieda and Roy Furman Gallery at Lincoln Center.
7:30 pm: Screening followed by Q&A
9:30 –11:00 pm: Reception, held in the Frieda and Roy Furman Gallery at Lincoln Center.
