FUSION 2006: THE LOS ANGELES
LGBT PEOPLE OF COLOR FILM FESTIVAL
ANNOUNCES AUDIENCE AWARD WINNERS


Los Angeles, California – December 5, 2006 – The celebrated 4th Annual Fusion: the Los Angeles LGBT People of Color Film Festival has announced its audience award winners for this year’s festival.

Fusion is the only multicultural, gender-inclusive film festival of its kind and included three days of extraordinary films, music, spoken-word, workshops and panels.

“We are proud to celebrate the winning directors and their films, and have been fortunate to share their talent and diverse visions. Their compelling stories and quality filmmaking have resonated with enthusiastic audiences this year,” says Kim Yutani, Outfest's Associate Director of Programming.

Best Feature was given to CUT SLEEVE BOYS, directed by Ray Yeung. This British Chinese Gay film – the first of its kind – boasts witty one-liners, an underground drag club, sex in a public toilet and an all-male production of the Miss Pacific Rim Beauty Pageant

Best Narrative Short was given to THE DL CHRONICLES, EPISODE: ROBERT, directed by Quincy LeNear & Deondray Gossett. The story of men of color who by consequence and by choice live sexually duplicitous and secret lifestyles identified as straight but engage in sexual activity with men.

Best Documentary Short was given to I’M STILL HERE: BECOMING LEGENDARY, directed by REACH LA Documentary focusing on the creative spirit and the desire for self-preservation within the L.A. Ball Community.




The 4th Annual Fusion Los Angeles LGBT People of Color Film Festival presenting sponsor was HBO and the Founding Sponsor is Liberty Hill Foundation

Additional sponsors included; Absolut, 20th Century Fox, The James Irvine Foundation, Tylenol PM, Dole Sparklers and Showtime.
