OUTFEST 2002: The 5th San Diego Gay and Lesbian Film Festival (September 26-29, 2002)

FESTIVAL DIRECTOR
Part-Time (June-September) plus limited year-round responsibilities

Programming
* curate public exhibition programs (primarily by attending OUTFEST Los Angeles, July 11-22)
* oversee filmmaker and staff hospitality and scheduling
* coordinate timely trafficking of film prints in and out of San Diego
* identify festival venues

Administration
* cultivate local business sponsorships
* maintain festival schedule and budget, submitting periodic expense
reports
* expand and engage the Honorary Committee

Qualifications: Background in film (graduate studies, filmmaking,
festival or journalism experience) as well as any special event experience. Must live in the San Diego area and be able to work from home.

ASSOCIATE FESTIVAL DIRECTOR
Part-Time (July-September)

Marketing/PR
* coordinate marketing and outreach efforts aimed at increasing single
ticket and pass sales
* coordinate local media relations, press and publicity
* solicit local business sponsorships and oversee fulfillment of sponsor
benefits
* oversee production and distribution of print materials (sponsorship
mailing, film guide mailing and festival catalog)

Operations
* coordinate Opening Night pre-screening and post-screening receptions,
as well as other scheduled festival receptions
* oversee box office sales and timely reporting of income
* recruit and oversee volunteers, forming committees and tracking
volunteer benefits
* coordinate venue management throughout the festival

Qualifications: Special event production, marketing, PR, or community
outreach experience. Must live in the San Diego area and be able to work
from home.
